Favorite Shows—
The Rings of Power - Season 1 (Amazon Prime)
The show took some time to get to where it was going, but I appreciated the anticipation! In general, I’m a huge fantasy nerd and seeing the beauty of the world and learning more about each character, really excited me, and found it fun being able to connect the dots between this all.
House of the Dragon – Season 1 (HBO)
When GOT ended, I was ready to say goodbye to this world! I was stoked that HOTD came out and was so happy to learn more about the Targaryen’s. The actors were impeccable, and the visuals– learning more about the family-line dynamics and all dragons were amazing! I also loved having watch parties with Amber, the snacks were endless, and being able to discuss every detail was what made it so special.
Andor - Season 1 (Disney+)
I went on a whim and watched this because I remind myself we have Disney+ and it was so good! Disney is killing it with these Star Wars series. Learning more about the rebellions and the work it takes to start a rebellion was one that I truly appreciated. The emotional investment I had in this series is one that made me realize how much I truly enjoy Star Wars.
White Lotus - Season 2 (HBO)
Mike White is a genius, if you haven’t already watched it or been overly targeted to watch this but haven’t yet– why haven’t you? It’s amazing, Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge) is my absolute favorite gem but Mia is where the heart is.
The Handmaid’s Tale - Season 4 (HBO)
June Osborn is a character I’m overly invested in. The dynamic between June and Serena is one that I will never understand but it greats such an amazing story. I also appreciate having watch parties with Candace and got Amber to join in on the finale, the snackies and gasps within the series are one I will forever cherish. I can’t wait until the next season!
A League of Their Own - Season 1 (Amazon Prime)
Abbi Jacobson will forever hold a special place in my heart, A League of Their Own only made me happier to see her play. Not only that but I always appreciate a show taking place in another time, it made it that much better.
Euphoria - Season 2 (HBO)
Obi-wan Kenobi - Season 1 (Disney+)
Wednesday - Season 1 (Netflix)
Abbot Elementary - Season 2 (Hulu)
I love all the characters in this! I laugh a lot because my husband is a teacher and seeing some of the episodes helps me see the stories he’s endured and have heard so much about. Although there’s a lot of humor and dramatic-ness behind this, I appreciate that they bring a lens to teachers nowadays. I hope people are able to watch this and appreciate the heart and soul it takes to be a teacher. (This series is still releasing new episodes too!)
Favorite Movies—
Everything Everywhere All at Once
I recently heard someone say how confused they were about this movie and how overly hyped it was and was in shock! I love an emotional, interdimensional, multi-personality characters have and went through all sorts of emotions. Laughing, crying, angry, worries etc. I’m forever grateful that my cousin and her boyfriend took us to the movies to watch this, the theater experience was one to be had. This is 100/10!
Where the Crawdads Sing - Netflix
My mother-in-law got me to read this book in 2020 and was so happy to see this was being made into a movie! I watched it on Netflix a few months ago and was so happy to watch the story come to life. I balled like a baby at the end.
The Secrets of Dumbledore - HBO
I love Harry Potter and the Wizardry World, I’ve read the HP series at least 10 times! And Dumbledore is a character who’s always been a mystery and hearing JK Rowling explain him in interviews never made sense to me so watching this movie put all the pieces together for me.
Elvis - HBO
Things I’m looking forward to watch–
Severance - Season 1 (Apple TV+)
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Amazon Prime)
The Offer (Paramount+)
The Last of Us (HBO) ~ Out January 15
That 90s Show (Netflix) ~ Out January 19
Taste Buds—
Veggie Mozzarella Salad - Tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, arugula and spinach, fresh mozzarella, and a vegan goddess bottle from Sprouts, my go-to lunch.
Vegetable Thai Gyoza (Trader Joes or Asiana Market) - We got the steamer from Our Place and it’s been a game changer, I’m definitely someone who likes to make something quick during the workday (I should hop on meal prepping tbh), but this is a quick thing I can turn on and eat quickly for lunch!
This year I’ve had the most watch parties with friends and with that comes great snacks like Pop Chips (Safeway), Rosemary Crackers (Sprouts), Fig Spread (Sprouts), Bitchin’ Sauce (Frys), Aura Bora (Sprouts), and Ranch Waters.
The Hatch Chile Margarita from Valentine (the vintage boot it comes in, is freaking adorable!)
Tiramisu Latte (with an extra shot) by Tous les Jours in Asiana Market
